There is constant noise and static all around us.
It can be found all around in the media, relationships, daily chores, and even our mind chatter.
What if...
You could get really quiet.
And sit and listen to your breath.
Would you be okay with where you were physically, mentally, and spiritually?
True acceptance begins with taking a deep breath and knowing that where you are right now, in this very moment is completely okay. It might not be a comfortable place... to sit quietly and just be.... however, this is where you can find your most intriguing answers to life.
Acceptance of your entire now moment can help you figure out where you want to go next. If you're being pushed and pulled and flailed about like a nervous horse with a flag chasing you, you won't be able to hear the quiet connection always at the ready to help you.
All you need do is ask. Sit and breathe... and ask yourself, what do I need in this moment?
Accepting where you are in life is key to being able to shift your reality.
Our horses are in the moment all. the. time.
If we were to accept them for where they are and create a greater sense of appreciation around them, they will feel relief.
When we are always pushing and creating static, our horses become resistant, checked out, or even combative.
Experiment with this:
1. What can you do in your life (and with your horse) that takes very little effort to get the results you're after? Accept that it might be 'doing nothing' and just 'being' with your horse for a few minutes. Breathing together.
2. Instead of saying 'trot now'... ask, 'are you ready to trot'? Accept what they offer. Be okay if they don't say 'yes ma'am' immediately. Get curious about how you can shift your perspective and invitation.
3. Do one thing that helps your body feel better. It might be walking a little extra, beginning a weight training program, a yoga class, or anything that helps your body to feel more athletic. Accept that it might take you many many times to feel exactly how you want. Enjoy the process of getting 'there'.
If you can accept where you are, be kind to yourself (and your horse), life will be filled with more grace and ease. (If you'd like more ideas, check out the mini course: Create a Powerful Bond with your horse)
No more combative moments. No more static. No more confusion.
Sit and breathe and accept.
Remember to lead with kindness, for yourself and for your horse.
And...
May the horse be with you. Always.
